THE SOCIETY OF ANIMAL ARTISTS INVITES SIGNATURE MEMBER HARVEY BODACH TO THE 66TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION 2026

Artists today and those of the past who paved the way, do not live and work in isolation from each other. They find common ground at times by coming together in order to share and encourage each other on their journeys. For me, the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), a body which the Group of Seven helped found, became my support group in 2021 when they made me an ACTIVE MEMBER.

Five years later after having been honoured with 14 awards, five within Canada’s FCA and nine with galleries in the United States, I sought an American fraternity which could offer the same kind of supports and opportunities.

So in early January of 2026, I applied for membership with the Society of Animal Artists (SAA) based in Colorado, USA. Later on the 22nd of that month, I was informed of my acceptance by their jury. This honour became even more significant for me when I discovered that they passed over the Associate Members level and made me a SIGNATURE MEMBER - was one level higher.

The membership of the Society of Animal Artists both past and present does represent an unquestionable who’s who of artists from around the world. It was founded in 1960, and is devoted to promoting excellence in the artistic portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet, and to the education of the public through art exhibitions, informative seminars, lectures, and teaching demonstrations
