“Animalis” 2022 Exhibition Jury announces First Place Prize going to painting “Canada Lynx in Repose on a Moonlit Winter Night”

The painting “Canada Lynx in Repose on a Moonlit Winter Night” measures “20’ x 15”. This Canada Lynx is hunting around twilight hours at night, when snowshoe hares of the boreal forest are most active. They travel on specific trails or wait in ambush beds for their prey. They are not always successful when hunting and need rest after vigorous periods of exertion, like this winter Lynx during a moonlit night.

The winter coat of this Lynx creates interesting streaming textures and deep pockets within the fur to explore. A thick silvery grey brown colour coats the fur with white tipped edges conveying a frosted icicle appearance. This differs from the thinner yellowish‑grey or rusty reddish‑brown coat of summer.

The sale of this painting is available only through the Federation Gallery at sales@artists.ca during the exhibition. Additional details about the painting are presently available here on this website and can be found in the GALLERY OF PAINTINGS section of www.harveybodach.com website.

During the exhibition the Federation Gallery will offer Virtual Tour of their gallery and the “Animalis” 2022 exhibition. Go to https://federationgallery.com/exhibit/virtual and select “Animalis” 2022.
